Office No.9 is the first formal workspace designed and built for ARC+A’s architecture and design practice in Pampatar, Nueva Esparta. Designed in 2017 and completed in 2019, the project draws from the team’s collective experience across firms of various scales to create a highly efficient, stimulating environment. Spanning a compact 60 square meters, the challenge was to accommodate all essential operational functions without compromising spatial comfort. The resulting open-plan layout minimizes physical walls, relying instead on furniture placement, color transitions, and lighting to sectorize distinct work zones. To overcome the limitation of a single window, glass partitions are integrated into the main divider to draw natural light deep into the space. Anchored by a muted, monochromatic palette of blacks, greys, and beiges, the office functions as a blank canvas where active projects provide the color, while a fully customizable RGB ambient lighting system allows the team to adapt the studio's mood and atmosphere at any moment.
