Ortiz - 1 is a complete residential renovation within the famous Conjunto Residencial Solymar complex in Porlamar, Nueva Esparta. Acquired as a summer home by a Spain-based conceptual artist, the project represents a collaborative, art-driven transformation that honors the complex's architectural heritage while pushing bold, unconventional boundaries. The original two-bedroom layout was radically reconfigured into an open-concept studio apartment where a single architectural element serves as the sole visual and spatial partition. Against a minimalist backdrop of off-white polished ceramic floors, the interior makes an eccentric statement with strong geometric lines and bold red and black accents. The client's own conceptual paintings are integrated throughout as dramatic impact pieces. The kitchen features a striking combination of solid black surfaces, warm wood, and stainless steel, while the bathroom is designed as a monochromatic block finished in heavily textured grey ceramic tiles. Though aggressive at first glance, the space is layered with subtle details that forge a highly personal, unmistakable identity.
